Happy 4th of July!!!

Not doing anything especially special for the 4th of July this year.

I was going to set these off, but there are forest fires all over Colorado right now. It's just too hot and too dry and dangerous. As much as I love firecrackers, it's just not worth the risk.

So next year. Maybe it'll be safer then.

I'm certainly dressed up to go somewhere fun, though. Maybe a picnic later? Dunno. So since this year's 4th of July isn't all that exciting, I thought I'd share with you some of the photos from the big picnic LAST year.

They were all part of a blog entry, but it got wiped out. So here they are again. Just a little trip down memory lane.

I hope I get to see all these pixies again soon, someday. Maybe they'll all come back when my book shop is open for business! Getting all the attention is pretty good, but it's getting a little lonely. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
(These pictures are from the 4th of July picnic held last year at Wightwick Manor, located at Norm's Dollhouse in Centennial, Colorado.)

Lynn, caretaker of Wightwick Manor, grills for some hungry pixies.

Gus and Salome. Salome was very, VERY pregnant at this time last year. They had a baby boy, but I haven't seen him. I hope I get to see them again someday.

Elysia having a tasty beverage. Photobomb by Phoebe.

The cousins, Clara and Beatrice. And another photo bomb by Phoebe.

Super sweet siblings, Devika and Taelyn. I miss Devika a lot.

*sigh* I miss my friends. Maybe if I make a sign telling them it's safe to come out? I dunno. But I'll figure it out. I really think they're here somewhere, but I don't know how to reach them. I don't think there's a PA system in the Wylde Kingdom. Hmm.

I'll figure it out.

- Miri

  1. Have a great 4th, Miri!

I love your dress. I hope you hear from your friends very soon!

  2. That's a perfect dress for the Fourth of July! Hope you have a good day even if it's quiet! :)

  3. Thanks, Lou Who! Me too. And I hope you have an awesome 4th yourself!

Hi Randomfish! Thank you! I thought so. We found it while we were sorting the clothes bin, I don't even know where it came from. Wishing you a good and quiet day too!

  4. Oh Miri,
I love your dress! I has to dig around to find something even a little patriotic...all I could manage was a red and white outfit.
    Happy 4th!

  5. Hey Pastel! Thanks! I don't know where we got it, but I'm so glad we found it! You look GREAT in your red and white outfit! Very patriotic!

You have a Happy 4th too!!!

  6. Fantastic 4th of July dress, Miri. You look fabulous. No bangs and pops allowed here either. We've had too many contiguous days of 90 degree plus. No rain in sight. Love the photos from last year, too.
    Trilby and Annie

  7. Thanks, AnnOxford! Sorry to hear you guys were denied fireworks too. Wishing you rain, and hoping some finds its way here too. :) *hugs to you and Trilby*

  8. Super cute dress and what a great day it was last year! I miss hearing about Devika, Taelyn, Tabby, the male pixie with the crazy hair who was rather professorish (can't remember his name, oops!), and, of course... Mr. Gage :) Just glad you're back though!

  9. Thanks, Anna! I'm a little bummed that I don't have any excuse to wear that dress again until next year. Maybe Flag Day I guess. I think I might be able to steal the pattern, though, and make more in other colors so I could wear them all year. Wish me luck!

I'm sure if I can just convince the rest of the pixies that Wendy's not going to sell them that I can get them to come out. I'm SURE they're here, even though I haven't seen anyone. I'll figure out something, though.

The Professorish guy I think is Mr. Thorne. (This is from back pretty early on when he saved Devika from Taelyn and I tumbling around over cookies. And then they ATE them all! -

I haven't seen Thorne in AGES! Even when the other pixies were around, he'd gone traveling somewhere. I think. I dunno. Things have been chaotic in the Wylde Kingdom for some time. Maybe it's all starting to calm down. Hope so. But when I do see him, I'll tell him you missed him. :)

It's nice to be back. And I won't be leaving again anytime soon.

  10. Miri you look spendid in that dress. We'll all just have to make a red white and blue day so we can wear our patriotic dresses again. I had mine for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Those fires are very scary, but I'm glad you stayed safe and didn't let any fireworks off.

I enjoyed the picnic last year and it was fun going down memory lane. Clara and Beatrice are so cute, but then meeces don't seem to mind me. Or froggies... Maybe vampires don't scare animals, at least I don't.

I hope you find your friendziz.
See you at the next natterinz whether yourziz or minez.
    Caio for now

  11. Aww, thank you, NyXyz! I agree that there should be more red white and blue days! Though I think I've got this dress pattern figured out and I can make more dresses in other colors now. Yaay! Crocheted stuff is more comfortable than I would've thought. Who knew?

The fires were TERRIFYING even though they weren't anywhere near us. I can't imagine what that must've been like. There were families that just barely got out, and saw the fire take their house just as they were driving out of their neighborhood. Scary stuff.

You don't seem like a scary vampire at all. You don't scare me, and I'm sure Beatrice and Clara would quite like you. I'll ask them when I see them, and I WILL see them. They're here somewhere. I just have to find them, or get them to come out of hiding or something.

    I'll figure it out.

    Talk to you soon!!

  12. Yes, yes, Mr. Thorne! Can't believe I forgot his name. Don't tell him I forgot, though he seems like the understanding type. I think he is my favorite other than you of course :D Hopefully he will come back!
