Miranda: 1 / Zombie: Nuthin'

My roommate suddenly has new hobbies. She's into target shooting, riding dirt bikes and selling pixie dolls who don't fit in with her new interests.

I have a dirt bike, and I'm good on it (I'll tell you all about it later) but I thought maybe it was time to pick up a firearm for target shooting. Thankfully, Norm's Dollhouse has a fine selection and a great gun sales guy.

I met up with Hank at the store. He's got an old garage that he works out of. Nice guy.

I told him I was interested in different fire arms, and so had out quite a selection for me to try. I decided to focus on the long guns for today. Handguns next time.

I brought my own eye and ear protection. Yeah, laugh all you want, but sometimes safety is more important than fashion.

Hank provided some nice targets.

But I brought my own from Killer Targets. Love them! I need to suggest these to the roommate. It'll show we share an interest, right? Right.

Tried the rifle first. Not bad. Looking through the scope gives me a headache, though.

So on to the shotgun.

I figured I'd just reuse my target, but then I realized: shotguns aren't for clowns...

Shotguns are for Zombies!

I love these targets, and it turns out I'm a fan of the shotgun.

Nice patterning!

Yes, I believe I've found my target shooting gun. Now to show it to the roommate and share our amazing new common interest. This little pixie doll isn't getting sold. I don't care WHAT new hobby she comes up with (and I'd like to recommend finishing building my house would be a GREAT hobby too, but that might be pushing it.)

Also... I still have all the other stuff that I was going to tell you before to tell you. But not getting sold on Ebay seemed more important. So next time. Promise.

Later,

Miri

  2. Hi Miranda! Good thinking there, showing how much you two have in common! Worst case scenario, you could come live with me, but I don't have a Norm's Dollhouse or anything close to it where I am. Portland is pretty cool, though, so keep that in mind. ;-) Jennifer

  3. Hi Minerva! Thanks! It IS pretty fun. I'd recommend it to any-pixie! And yes, better to be ready for Z Day than be taken by surprise.:)

Thanks, Plushpussycat! I think my plan will work beautifully. I'm not moving out. I will hide in the kitchen cabinets and sneak out to steal M&Ms if I have to, but I'm not leaving. She needs me. Maybe I just need to remind her. But I will definitely keep Portland in mind if things change. Thank you for the kind offer!

  5. LOL! Glad you liked it, Dlsarmywife. Miranda is nothing if not safety conscious. Well, and she looks really cute in earmuffs. As long as she's safe, that's the important thing, though. :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting! - Wendy

  6. I loved the pictures! The earplugs are the best! I think this girl should not watch the Walking Dead. ;)

  7. You look so cute....and deadly!

When the zombie apocalypse begins I'm calling shotgun in your armoured vehicle!

  8. Hey Eliana! Thanks! Ear protection is really important in spaces like this, but when I go shooting in the woods I probably won't wear them. I'm like that. And I tried watching Walking Dead, but ended up hoping the zombies would eat most of the characters. *shrug* I did like Zombieland, though. And Night of the Living Dead (both versions). But maybe not everyone watches them like documentaries. Hmm...

Aww, thanks Mini Minnie! Cute and deadly is AWESOME! That made my whole morning! And absolutely. I'll protect you, Daisy and Minnie too! :)

  10. Hi Miri,
You look like you're going to be a pro at your new hobby. I can't imagine that you would ever get sold on ebay. Even if the rest of the resin people and pixies leave, you're too special to ever leave. Plus, who would write your blog??
    Best wishes!

  11. Hi Trilby! Yeah, I kind of rock the bear earmuffs. Looking sharp while being safe is awesome. But safety is more important than looking good. I'm just lucky to be able to do both. :)

Hi Bearpicnic! Thank you so much. What a sweet thing to say. I don't think I'll end up on Ebay, but it never hurts to plan ahead and do my best to keep it from happening. You know, just in case. I think there will always be a Miranda wandering, though we've had other contributors from time to time. But my name is on it, it's MY blog, so you're right, I'd BETTER be here. :) Thanks for the vote of confidence!

  12. Love this post! So cute with all the safety gear! Looks like you are a natural. I know you aren't going anywhere. I agree with bearpicnic!

P.S. Please tell Wendy that I really enjoyed talking to her yesterday on the phone and thank her for all her help in assisting me with my new dolly adoption. I can hardly wait for my new little girl to arrive! Dolly hugs! :o)

    1. Hi Bama! Turns out Miranda is an awesome shot. Who knew? I don't know if this is good or bad news, actually.

And no, she's not going anywhere. There are two dolls that will not ever leave the Wylde Kingdom, and Miranda is certainly one of them.

Also, it was wonderful getting to talk to you too! I really enjoy having a voice to put to the blog, and I can't wait to see what becomes of your new girly! Keep me posted! Have a great weekend, and thank you for your kind words and encouragement for Miranda Wandering. That Miri, she's a handful, but I don't know what I'd do without her. :) - Wendy

  13. Hey Miri, you really rock those bearmuffs. That shotgun suits you. You've got the right ideaz about making your Guardian pay attention to you. Don't let her forget how important you are to your readerziz. I know it's hard to keep blogging, but you have a very interesting life and it needz sharing. I've got 3 blogziz, but the Dizney one is all put finished now that we're home from that trip.

Alwayz great to read your blogziz. I get my Guardian to pop in to keep up.

Waving at you from the UK. P.s. I enjoyed those Ice caves and music. Brilliant stuff.

    1. Thanks, NyXyz! I like the bearmuffs, and I'm glad someone agrees with me that the shotgun is just natural to a pixie such as myself. Yeah... the roommate is having her own troubles, so I'm trying to stay out of her hair. She keeps promising me she won't sell me. I have no choice but to believe her. And I'll try to keep blogging even though I sometimes don't feel like it. Means a lot to know pixies like you are out there reading my goofy blog entries.

Glad you liked the Ice Caves and the music! Wasn't it pretty? I don't think I'm going to get to see the caves in person this year, but maybe next year. Waving back at you from across the pond!

    1. Thanks for letting us know, Bama, but I'm not going to tell her. That's all we need is another frickin' critter around here. Well, maybe I'll tell her. We'll see. Thank you either way. - Miri
