Miranda Wandering Away - on eBay This Time

It is after a lot of time and consideration that I am making this post.

Miranda is leaving. For good. She goes on eBay on Sunday (tomorrow) afternoon and will end up wherever she ends up. My eBay profile is here - http://www.ebay.com/usr/midnightinthedollhouse

Pretty much everyone left from the Wylde Kingdom crew will be joining her on eBay in the next few days/weeks. Dismantling a kingdom takes time, and there is a LOT of stuff...

This was not an easy decision to come to, but it's been coming for a while.

After much moaning and gnashing of teeth, I realized that it HAS to be eBay - there just is no other way for me to find her a home.

There are lots of people who would adopt her, I know, but how could I possibly choose?

If I chose a friend, people would expect them to continue the blog, maybe even her Facebook profile, and while it would be great if those things happened, the person who adopts her shouldn't feel like they HAVE to continue her stories.

The doll "community" can be an ugly place. Especially when there are expectations. I won't do that to someone else.

So a private auction on eBay is the best solution, I think. If the person who adopts her WANTS to continue the blog, Miranda will be coming with her domain name and blog and also her Facebook profile.

If they don't, they're welcome to delete them all and put her on a shelf.

It doesn't matter to me anymore. I am done with the world of BJDs.

It's been almost 10 years of Miranda... but it ends in a week. Sunday,  July 31st, her auction will end and she will have a new home.

The Wylde Kingdom is no more.

Thank you for being here while it was. :)

- Wendy

P.S. - Miranda's auction has been delayed by a bit while I figure out why I thought auctioning her was a better idea than just running her over with my car. Seriously, I have never received such hateful emails in my life (and I've gotten some pretty hateful emails, let me tell you). So while I'm figuring out what I'm going to do, she is in doll limbo. I will keep you posted when/if I decide to go on with the auction. - Wendy

  1. Sometimes things come to and end and you know when it is. This is not something you have rushed into but taken time to think about. Good luck with your future and take care. I am sure Miranda will find a new home and what will be will be.

  5. Oh Wendy, I cannot believe that you have received hate mail. Really? People can be so cruel. I am so thankful that you have been a fantastic blogger and an inspiration to so many. (I am one of your biggest fans!)
I have been out of the blogging world for a while with real life stuff, but I am about to get back into it.
This blog has been so fun to read. (I wish it could just stay up forever-as a pillar and inspiration to the whole community of blog-land.)
I wish you all the best with your future endeavors. I am going to miss your sense of humor the most. You are a great storyteller.
(And just to let you know, we have a witness protection program right here in Oak Leaf Forest if Miranda needs to get away for a while.)
Hmm, come to think about it, maybe Miranda could take vacation to visit a few trusted blogs before she moves to another forever home? She would be most welcome to visit my crew. I know Mr Crumble is looking for an assistant in the bakery, and Lady Sparkle is looking for someone to help her in the dress shop. Just throwing out some ideas.
Anyway, thank you for all the great posts and best of luck to you!
    Hugs,
    Sam and my resin gang.
